SRM University had released an official notification inviting all the interested, eligible candidates for admission to Bachelor of Technology (BTech) admission for the academic year 2017.

As per data, the registrations for the same began on November 19, 2016.

It is mandatory for all candidates to give SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) (UG) 2017  to get an admission into BTech offered by SRM University in Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, and NCR campuses.

Official statement:

“Our emphasis this year will be on One Entrance Examination One Counseling; One Course One Fee; All BTech programmes All Campuses. Salient features of this year admission are that NRI, PIO and OCI card holders will have an option to seek admission by appearing for SRMJEEE (UG).”

Furthermore, candidates can also apply under International category if they wish so, but by paying fees applicable for international students.


Eligibility criteria:

Educational qualification:

All the candidates interested in taking admission need to be intermediate (class 12) pass from a recognised state board/university.


Selection procedure:

  • The selection procedure will be very transparent and simple
  • Based on the cut-off scores for each specialisation of BTech for each campus, merit list will be announced
  • Candidates will be called for on-campus counseling as per the order of the merit and candidates can choose their preferred choice of campus and / or specialisation and get admitted by paying the tuition fees
  • In case a candidate just falls short of the cut-off required for a particular specialisation of his/her preference, the candidate can retake the entrance examination for a maximum of two times to improve his score
  • The best of the three scores will be considered for allotting the specialisation/branch
  • It is also proposed to provide a one-time sliding opportunity. Also post admission the enrollment process and course registration will be through our web-based portal
  • The students will have the benefits of studying under Choice-Based Flexible Credit System

Exam test centres:

  • The examination will be conducted conduct online
  • The test would be held across 120 centers in India, and centers in Dubai, Muscat, Doha, Bahrain, and Kuwait
  • The examination will be for a period of 30 days commencing from April 1, 2017.

Tentative dates for BTech counseling:

  • Counseling – I (On-campus):  May 5th to 9th, 2017
  • Counseling – II (online): May  11, 2017 onwards.
