Manufacturing is a sunrise sector which will contribute immensely to the GDP at state as well as the national level in the coming years and create jobs for the youth, Rajasthan Industries Minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat said today.
Addressing industrialists at an award ceremony of Rajasthan State Productivity Council here, he also emphasised on working collectively for the happiness of end users through CSR activities.
He said that productivity is a wider concept. “What you provide the society through productivity for its welfare is important. Until, you use productivity for welfare of the society, it cannot bring about a change.”
The happiness index can be improved through holistic development of the society, he said, adding that people now want “smart villages, smart citizens, smart industries along with smart cities”.
Shekhawat stressed upon the need to use advance technology for improving competitiveness and quality standards.
“Technology is bringing about a major change and we need to change our mindset with the changing times,” he added.
Speaking about immense industrial opportunities across Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), the minister said that 14 per cent of the DMIC is in Rajasthan and there are untapped opportunities in new and renewable energy industries.
He also conferred award to the industries and their employees for their excellence in the field of productivity.
