Meticulous preparation helped a 22-year-old resident of Vellore to bag the all-India second rank in chartered accountants final examination, the results of which were declared on Tuesday. This was his first attempt at the examination which is considered tough to crack.

Agathiswaran. S, a resident of Kosapet in Vellore, has secured 602 marks out of 800, registering a percentage of 75.25. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India declared the results of the CA final examination held in May and Common Proficiency Test held in June on Tuesday.

Inspired by father

Chartered accountancy is nothing new to this 21-year-old as his father, C. Srinivasan, is also a chartered accountant. “My father is one of the reasons why I wanted to pursue CA. I have always been drawn towards accountancy and direct taxes,” he said.

Cracking the CA examination in the first attempt is not an easy task. “It needs a systematic approach. There is lot of syllabus to cover. I did an intensive preparation for the last four to five months with no distractions at all,” he added.
