CBSE Board Exams 2020: No change in exam-schedule, Board official dismisses speculations

CBSE Board Exams 2020: Speculations were brewing that the CBSE may reschedule the dates for the 2020 Board exams with the on-going nation–wide protests, curfew in different areas and several national and state-level universities postponing their exams and proposing to conduct them on a later date. Several universities had also cancelled their internal semester-end exams and rescheduled them for later. Controller of Examinations, CBSE, Sanyam Bharadwaj, however, dismissed all such speculations. According to the statement made by him the CBSE 2020 Board exams will be conducted as per the scheduled dates and there will be no changes to the time-table announced earlier.

Bharadwaj stated that the Board, since 1929 has never changed or rescheduled the dates for the Board exams. The exam being of national importance will also be held as planned, he said. Adding that the future of lakhs of students depends on the Board exams, CBSE receives immense help from the state governments to carry out the examination conduction process smoothly. Bharadwaj also mentioned that even in earlier cases where curfew was imposed students and their guardians have been allowed to travel to the exam centre upon displaying of the Board exam admit cards.

CBSE will begin the Class 10 and12 Board exams this session from 15th February 2020. Since last year CBSE has moved the Board exam commencement date from March to February. The CBSE Class 10 Board exam will conclude on 20th March 2020 while that of Class 12 will conclude on 30th March 2020. As per reports, more than 10 lakhs of students will appear in CBSE 2020 Board exams.
